SAUDISATION: A NATIONAL ISSUE.

The new king has already said that jobs and stability are his two top priorities, and with unemployment currently standing at 11.8%, the two issues are linked. Saudi Arabia’s adherence to World Trade Organisation agreements in November 2005 helped to integrate the Saudi economy globally, attracting domestic and foreign investment and creating job opportunities for Saudi citizens. It forged ahead with generous government spending on massive projects encompassing education, housing, healthcare and transport while also incentivising private sector firms to provide training, education and job opportunities with a view to making the Saudi workforce more competitive.
